In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, TAFE NSW, in conjunction with the NSW Government, is offering a number of fee-free* short courses that can be completed in just days or weeks, offering practical skills and experiences across a range of industries.
If you’re considering a new direction, why not explore some of the fee-free* short courses as well as learn more about our Mature Age Scholarships, Destination Australia Scholarships and Women in Business program, among many others.

Small Business Webinar Series – ATO
The Australian Taxation Office have split their current free small business webinar series into different session topics that cover both general and industry-specific areas of tax obligations. Each session runs for approximately 45 to 60 minutes.
These sessions are of interest if you:
- are starting a new business or just thinking about starting one
- want to update your knowledge
- work in any of the industry-specific areas advertised.

Breaking News: Wage SubsidyApril 2, 2020
If your business has been significantly impacted by the Coronavirus you will be able to access a wages subsidy to continue paying your employees. Under the JobKeeper program, you can claim a fortnightly payment of up to $1,500 per eligible employee from 30 March 2020, for a maximum of six months. This assistance will help you keep staff and will help you restart when the crisis is over.

Attention Gunnedah business owners. The state and federal government have released a few packages to assist your business in this difficult time. Below is a link to where you will find a summary.
Media release: More than $25,000 to assist growing businesses
Fourteen Gunnedah Shire businesses will be able to explore new opportunities with the help of the latest round of the Business Partner Program.
Gunnedah Shire Council has approved $25,750 in funding for the 14 businesses which will include everything from new business establishment to machinery upgrades.
Major beneficiaries of the program this round are the View Street Takeaway and Springfield Woolshed, with funding also going to Crawford Boots, Reverence Sourdough, Glo Body Co, AMH Bookkeeping Service, BP Crane Contracting Pty Ltd, Raw Confetti, Soil Futures Consulting Pty Ltd, Montage Fotos, Wander + Collect, Juliette Scott Life Balance, Essence Natural Therapies and Fogarty Fotos.
Council runs three rounds of the Business Partner Program each year. The next round closes 30th June 2020.
