Small business owners, farmers and primary producers affected by the bushfires may be eligible for free legal help through the following programs:

Justice Connect

Justice Connect is a legal services organisation that designs and delivers high impact interventions to increase access to legal support and progress social justice.

Justice Connect can support bushfire affected small businesses, farms and not-for-profit organisations by connecting them to a pro bono lawyer for legal advice or representation.

Legal Aid NSW

Under Legal Aid NSW’s Bushfire Legal Aid Scheme, small businesses and farmers with legal issues related to the 2019/2020 bushfires can apply through their lawyer for funding to assist with legal costs.

Contact your lawyer, call the Legal Aid NSW Disaster Response Legal Service on 1800 801 529 or email disaster.response@legalaid.nsw.gov.au.

Financial Rights Legal Centre

Financial Rights Legal Centre is a community legal centre providing legal help to consumers, farmers, small businesses and farmers impacted by natural disasters.

To receive legal advice, financial counselling or representation, call 1300 663 464 (press 1 for disaster) for insurance related issues or 1800 844 949 for credit and debt related issues.
